Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A pair of lead alloy and carved bone playing dice. The faces on the lead die are worn with age, but the bone die has sharp circles as the number markers. Ancient Romans used dice (which they called "tesserae") primarily for games of both chance and skill. Size of larger die: 0.5" L x 0.5" W (1.3 cm x 1.3 cm)
