Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE; Western to Central Europe, Medieval Period, ca. 13th to 15th century CE. A set of 2 iron spear tips from 2 distinctive time periods in European history. First is a lengthy Roman spear tip with a lengthy neck, a tapered socketing shaft, and a triangular head with a pair of lateral fins. The Medieval European spear features a slender socketing shaft beneath a narrow neck and triangular blade. Size of largest: 15.75" L x 0.9" W (40 cm x 2.3 cm)

  • Condition: Roman spear has loss to fin on one side of head, and Medieval spear has losses to rim of socketing shaft. Both pieces have slight bending to overall forms, with heavy oxidation commensurate with age. Nice patina throughout.
