Roman, Imperial Period, struck ca. 209 to 212 CE. A silver coin minted during the reign of Geta, a young emperor who succeeded his father Septimius Severus and was expected to share power with his brother Caracalla - unfortunately that didn't work out for him, and he was murdered on his brother's orders. During his brief reign, this coin was minted in Rome. One side has a right-facing profile bust of Geta shown bareheaded, draped, and curaissed; the reverse shows a standing Nobilitas holding a scepter and palladium. Size: 0.75" W (1.9 cm)

Provenance: Acquired at London coin fair in the 1990s
