Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 5th century CE. A pair of graceful necklaces, each featuring ancient stone and glass circular and barrel-shaped beads, ranging from pale grey to jet black hues. Seven ancient beads are strung on each necklace, which is then completed with modern glittering grey metal beads and a modern sterling silver clasp. The pair may be worn separately or as a double strand. Size of largest bead: 0.8" W (2 cm); length of longest necklace: 32" L (81.3 cm)

  • Condition: Ancient large stone and glass beads with modern metal beads and clasps. The ancient beads have wear commensurate with age, including tiny chips and losses from the peripheries. They also have light deposits on their surfaces, mainly in the lower profile areas.
