Roman Empire, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. This free-blown translucent pale green glass vessel has a concave base and smooth pontil, round body with five asymmetrical indentations, corseted shoulders tapering to a cylindrical neck, a wide flared rim with an in-folded lip, and two applied undulating trail handles. A thick layer of silvery iridescence with rainbow highlights, and small flowing striated accents embellishes the surface. Size: 2.625" W x 2.625" H (6.7 cm x 6.7 cm).

Provenance: private New Jersey USA collection, acquired over twenty years ago
