Egypt, ca. 1st century BCE/CE. Somewhat rare plaster hand of a mummy casing. Right hand wearing snake bracelet, object once held in clinched fingers. Interestingly, the underside shows clear impression of linen wrappings that would have covered the body directly. Faint remains of original pigment. Nice example. 6-1/4"L x 3-1/2"H. Provenance: Ex-private Ann Attal collection via family descent from great uncle - before 1950.
