Sasanian Empire. Ca. 5th century A.D. Four different carved banded agate dome stamp seals of various colors. All with a different carved stamp impression including a winged man with a bird's body, a crest with a faux inscribed border, a wild boar, and a winged horse with inscription. The winged horse has substantial edge roughness from use. The other three seals are intact. Size: 1/2" to 3/4"W.
Provenance: Private NYC. collection, acquired from Henry Anavian, Sumer Gallery, NYC., 1990's. From the estate of David Anavian, Los Angeles, imported during 1979, the year he migrated to the US from Iran.
