Sasanian Empire. Ancient Near East. Ca. Late 6th - early 7th century A.D. Three different pottery bullae, all having various multiple stamp impressions of different animals and family crests. The example with fifteen stamp impressions has some scattered light surface wear and general surface deposits, and an ancient rear edge loss. A rare example with this many impressions. The other two examples are intact. A nice group. Size: 2"D. to 2-1/2"D.
Provenance: Private NYC. collection, acquired from Sumer Gallery, NYC., Henry Anavian, 1980's.
