Description:

**Originally Listed At $200**

Central Europe, Italic / Celtic culture, ca. 8th to 1st century BCE. A group of three thin, crescentic bronze implements, likely functioning as personal grooming tools - early razors or hair-trimming blades. Each is hammered from a thin bronze sheet into a broad, flattened circular or ovoid form with a narrow tang or neck terminating in a perforated tab. The attachment tab is grooved or notched for grip, and pierced to allow for suspension - likely from a fibula or belt. These implements were probably used to trim body or facial hair and served both functional and symbolic roles in personal grooming. Their frequent discovery in male funerary contexts throughout Italy suggests their use in ritualized grooming or as status markers. Size: 2.75" L x 2" Diameter (7 cm x 5.1 cm)

Provenance: ex-T.F. Holy Lands collection, formed since the 1960s; ex-private UK collection; ex-Vienna, Austria collection, before 2000
