Pre-Columbian, northern Peru, Sican, Lambayeque Valley, ca. 800 to 1200 CE. Very expressive high karat gold plaque with the facial image of Naylamp, the Sican god that is the Moche equivalent of Ai Apec. He looks forward with stern countenance, wearing large earspools and elaborate headdress, eyes slightly upturned at corners which is indicative of Lambayeque portraits. A nice example! 4.1 grams of 18+ Kt gold. Custom stand. Size: 2.125" W x 1.875" H (5.4 cm x 4.8 cm)
