Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Sinu Valley (Tairona or Quimbaya peoples), ca. 4th to 11th centuries CE. A necklace made of 27 fascinating ceramic pendants - each anthropomorphic, terminating in a face - and dozens of white, red, and black stone disc-shaped beads, all ancient, on a modern cord with modern clasp. Wearable and definitely a conversation starter! Approximate size of pendants: 0.7" W (1.8 cm); length of necklace: 25.5" L (64.8 cm)

Provenance: private Probst collection, Monterey, California, USA, acquired from the mid 1970s to mid 1990s
