Egyptian, 26th/30th Dynasty, ca. 664-342 CE. Smaller bronze cast figurine representing Harpocrates, son of Osiris and Isis, who was born in the lotus flower like Nefertum. Assuming the traditional seated position, arms to sides both hands extended, side airlock, donning nemes head cloth with uraeus and diadem surmounted by hem-hem crown flanked with uraeus serpent heads. Bronze loop behind crown for suspension. Custom stand and museum stand. Measurements for figurine alone. Stand adds another 1.5 inches to height. 1.50"W x 4.00"H (3.81 W x 10.16 H cm) Provenance: Ex-Private Boulder, CO collection; purported to be from a deaccessioned museum collection in the 1970s-1980s.
