Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Manabi culture, ca. 500 BCE to 500 CE. A gorgeous macrame necklace comprised of forty-three miniature pottery spindle whorls, arranged in two strands, with a petite knot in-between each bead. Each spindle whorl is decorated with abstract avian figures and geometric motifs, all in low-relief, in hues of orange, gray, brown, and black. A large button clasp is secured to one end, and a small suspension loop constitutes the other terminal. Wearable and certainly attractive, this is a beautiful accessory meant to accentuate any ensemble! Glass bottle for photography display purposes only. Size of necklace: 19.5" L (49.5 cm); size of largest bead: 0.375" W (1 cm).
