Ancient Near East, probably Northwestern Iran. Iron Age I-II, about 1350 - 800 B.C. or earlier. Two similar cast bronze seated figures, the slightly small example, holds a flask with both hands in front of his/her chest. Wearing a pointed cap, and depicted with a large projecting nose and squared shoulders. The larger seated figure holds both hands on his thighs. Long full hairdo cascading over the squared shoulders, large projected nose. Both have a heavy encrusted blue-green surface patina with overall areas of earthen encrustation. Some normal minor imperfections, otherwise intact. Quite rare. Size: 5"H. x 3-3/8"W. & 5-3/4"W. x 3-3/4"W.
Provenance: Collection of Henry Anavian, Sumer Gallery, NYC., 1980's. To family by inheritance.
