Description:

North America, Wester United States, Late Cretaceous period., ca. 68,000,000 - 66,000,000 BCE. A massive Tyrannosaurus rex pelvis presented on a custom metal and wood stand, preserving the broad, flaring ilium and robust acetabular region characteristic of this apex predator. The sweeping form shows the deep central basin and heavy bone structure that supported powerful hind limbs, with a wide span and substantial thickness reflecting the immense weight it once carried. Tyrannosaurus rex remains one of the most iconic and studied dinosaurs, widely regarded as the dominant terrestrial predator of its time and a central figure in both scientific research and popular culture. Fossils of this scale and completeness are increasingly rare, and large anatomical elements such as the pelvis are especially sought after for their visual impact and anatomical significance. Size: 49" L x 26" W (124.5 cm x 66 cm); 25" H (63.5 cm) on included custom stand.

  • Condition: Professionally prepared and stabilized with some minor areas of infill as expected. Adhesive stabilizer added to the surface. The pelvis is well preserved with substantial structural integrity, showing expected fossilization and mineralization throughout. Surface wear, natural fissures, and areas of erosion are present, consistent with age and excavation. Some edge loss and irregular margins remain, but the overall form is intact and clearly defined.
