Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built pottery female figure standing upon lengthy, slender legs and petite feet. Her nude body presents with wide hips, broad shoulders, hanging arms adorned with bifurcated armbands, and a thick neck ringed with a pair of applied necklaces. Her abstract visage is composed of coffee-bean-shaped eyes, a prominent nose, full lips, and curled bangs, and a thick-brimmed cap tops her head. A lovely example from ancient West Mexico! Size: 3.9" W x 7.875" H (9.9 cm x 20 cm); 8.7" H (22.1 cm) on included custom stand.
