Description:

Ancient Greece, Cyprus, Iron Age, Cypro-Archaic Phase, ca. 900 to 750 BCE. A hand-built pottery oinochoe of substantial size with an egg-shaped body, a tapered cylindrical neck, a trefoil spout, and a bifurcated handle arching down to the shoulder. The russet-hued exterior is decorated with ample fine-line stripes that form concentric circles, bullseye patterns, and petite circles, some of which overlap with other details. The front set of concentric circles is adorned in the middle with a white-petal flower that stands out amongst the geometric embellishments. Size: 9" Diameter x 13.5" H (22.9 cm x 34.3 cm)

Minor abrasions and nicks, with light pitting, and fading to original pigment in scattered areas, otherwise in great condition. Nice preservation to most motifs.
