Description:

Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, Teotihuacan, ca. 3rd to 7th century CE. A finely preserved maskette plaque carved from mottled greenstone with forest green, sage green, and beige inclusions. The highly stylized visage protrudes from the bottom of the trapezoidal plaque and bears ovoid eyes beneath sweeping brows, a bulbous nose above thin lips, and a broad forehead. The plaque's staggered top section resembles a tiered crown or headdress that rests low on the brow. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 3.9" W x 4.9" H (9.9 cm x 12.4 cm)
