Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, Teotihuacan, ca. 3rd to 7th century CE. A mold0formed pottery stamp of an ovoid form with the mesmerizing image of an abstract lord or ruler along the stamp face. The topside of the stamp bears an integral, semicircular handle used for gently pressing the engraved image onto pottery or stucco, and an incised ridge around the stamp face creates a minimalist border. The ruler is adorned with ample finery such as medallions, feathers, and curvilinear projections that imbue the figure with a sense of wealth and authority. Size: 2.875" L x 2.1" W x 1.875" H (7.3 cm x 5.3 cm x 4.8 cm)
