Northern Europe, Holland, Arnheim, ca. late 20th to early 21st century CE. A richly patterned coat by The People of the Labyrinths, crafted in their signature fusion of hand-worked textile exuberance and sculptural drape. Sized extra small, the piece embodies the brand's celebrated instinct for outsider luxury: a slouchy, enveloping aesthetic with a collar so voluminous it unfurls easily into a hood. The exterior carries a velvety hand, created from a blend of 50 percent viscose and 50 percent polyester. Its surface is alive with labyrinthine motifs, serpentine lines, and layered symbols rendered in deep burgundy, pink, gold, and blue, echoing POTL's long-standing devotion to hand-dyed and hand-printed fabrics. Inside, the quilted lining is made of 82 percent viscose and 18 percent silk, lending a smooth, supple glide that enhances the garment's draped silhouette. Size: Extra Small

Since 1984, designers Hans Demoed and Geert de Rooij have shaped The People of the Labyrinths into a realm where fabric becomes narrative. This coat reflects that ethos: tactile, imaginative, and rooted in the brand's love of colour-rich prints, intricate graphics, and textiles that feel as expressive as they look. With its soft structure and transformative collar, it wears like a piece of wearable art, designed to move with the body's rhythm while surrounding it in labyrinthine warmth.

About the design company: "Hans Demoed and Geert de Rooij started The People of The Labyrinths (POTL) in 1984. POTL distinguished itself from the beginning with intriguing hand-printed and hand-dyed high-end fashion. Uncompromising, outsider-instincts combined with colourful, spirited and labyrinthine exuberance. Apart from the personal fashion-collections, the POTL-realm includes also a many-faceted and sophisticated interior design range and a select perfume line.

The People of the Labyrinths are renowned for its sublimely connected concept of fashion, interior design, art design and cosmetics. The look and feel of the wide range of collections from the past and today always bear the characteristic and original look and feel of POTL: colourful eye-candy, seductive use of materials, sharp graphics and mesmerizing silk-screen prints, inspired by heraldry, the visual arts, history, anthropology, photography, nature and science.

Both Geert de Rooij and Hans Demoed focus on the texture of the fabrics enhancing the tactility and sensitivity of the luxurious POTL experience with ingenious designs and otherworldly colours. The fascinating labyrinth-construct with endless meaning, secrets and layers still remains a bountiful incentive for Geert de Rooij and Hans Demoed to add personal magic in their art of hand-dying, hand-printing of fabrics, garments and objects."
