Description:

**Originally Listed At $400**

Eastern Mediterranean, Levantine Region, Iron Age to Roman Period, ca. 1st Millennium BCE to 1st Century CE. A group of three ancient ceramic bowls from the Levantine region, wheel-thrown in fine red to buff clay. These utilitarian vessels may have been used for food preparation, serving, or ritual purposes across multiple cultures including Canaanite, Israelite, and neighboring peoples. One bowl is repaired from two large fragments, with sets of drilled holes flanking the break line. These holes likely supported an ancient repair method in which the fragments were laced together using leather or similar organic material; as the lashing dried, it would have drawn the pieces tightly together. The organic binding has long since disintegrated. Size: 9.75" Diameter x 2.75" H (24.8 cm x 7 cm).

Provenance: private Boca Raton, Florida, USA collection acquired from Baidun Gallery, Jerusalem, Israel.
