Pre-Columbian, Bolivia or Peru, Wari / Huari or Tiwanaku / Tiahuanaco culture, ca. 400 to 700 CE. A beautiful crown made from a gold-washed copper band decorated in low relief, depicting sun gods, jaguar heads, and sacrificial human skull motifs. This crown may have perhaps been worn with a cloth lining or attached to a headdress. Beautifully mounted in a spiral to artistically present the form. Size: 38.5" L x 1" W (97.8 cm x 2.5 cm); 9.75" H (24.8 cm) on included custom stand.
