Description:

Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, Tlatilco, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A hand-built pottery female figurine seated upon bent, conical legs. Her wide abdomen tapers to rounded breasts and stocky shoulders, and her arms are bent and held to her waist. The elongated head boasts dramatically-slanted slit-form eyes, a pinched nose, puffy lips, and bar-shaped ears, all beneath a centrally-bunched coiffure. Traces of remaining original red and yellow pigmentation are visible in scattered areas. Size: 2.125" W x 3.75" H (5.4 cm x 9.5 cm).
