Ancient Near East, modern-day Iran, Luristan, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A collection of twelve bronze personal ornaments from one of the most skilled and technologically sophisticated metalworking cultures. Nine are pins, used for holding hair and clothing in place, all with different flourishes and details. The other three are bracelets, all unique - one delicate, with an intricate clasp; another braided; and the third thick and heavy. Size of largest pin: 6.1" L x 0.25" W (15.5 cm x 0.6 cm); size of largest bracelet: 0.6" L x 3" W (1.5 cm x 7.6 cm)

Provenance: Ex-Estate of John Piscopo. Mr. Piscopo was one of the largest collectors of ancient weapons in the US with a collection that spanned all cultures, all ages.
