Description:

Greek and Roman Empires, Magna-Graecia , southern Italy, for the kylix and probably Levant (northern Africa, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt) for the glass, ca, 300 BCE to 200 CE. The first piece is a Greek pottery kylix, a wide, shallow drinking cup with twin horizontal handles, traditionally used for wine consumption in ancient Greece and its colonies. Crafted from gray pottery, it rests on a short, undecorated foot. The second piece is a deep cobalt blue glass olpe, featuring a broad foot, a wide, flat rim, and decorative blue glass rigaree encircling the midsection, which connects to its long handle. Size of largest: 2.625" W x .75" H (6.7 cm x 1.9 cm)
