Description:

Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate Period, ca. 1070 to 712 BCE. A pair of charming amulets made of faience and glazed a chalky white. One depicts a seated ram, probably a reference to the god Khnum, one of the oldest Egyptian deities, believed to be the source of the Nile River and thus the creator who molded human bodies and other deities from the rich silt and clay along the river's banks. The other is amphora-shaped. Both have loops for suspension. Size of largest: 1.75" H (4.4 cm)
