Description:

Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1069 to 332 BCE. A pair of miniature conical faience vessels, one resting on a stemmed foot and the other with a flat base. These tiny vessels, each capable of holding less than a thimble-sized amount, were likely used to store offerings such as kohl cosmetics. In ancient Egypt, small models of objects, often crafted from faience, were commonly placed in burials as symbolic substitutes for full-sized items. Faience, with its bright, dazzling surface and vivid greenish-blue color, symbolized regeneration and rebirth. Size of largest: 1" Diameter x 1.5" H (2.5 cm x 3.8 cm)
