Description:

Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Jamacoaque culture, ca. 500 CE. A really nice, complementary pair of adorable birds - they caught my eye as soon as I saw them come into the gallery! Both are tropical birds, mold made, and brightly painted, with remaining blue and red pigment denoting feathers and wings. Birds were both important trade goods from the rainforest to the mountains, as well as associated with godly qualities like the sun and war prowess. Size of largest: 4.6" L x 2.25" W x 3.9" H (11.7 cm x 5.7 cm x 9.9 cm)
