Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Valdivian culture, Formative Period, ca. 2000 to 1500 BCE. A group of 2 hand-built pottery female Venus idol head, each with incised linear facial features and a full coiffure. The larger head is painted with light gray pigment while the second head shows red-hued buffware. Size of largest (light gray): 0.625" L x 1.2" W x 1.8" H (1.6 cm x 3 cm x 4.6 cm); 3" H (7.6 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private Hawaii, USA collection, acquired from 2000 to 2010; ex-Hans Juergen Westermann collection, Germany
