United States, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A U.S. Navy Service Dress Blue Captain's jacket belonging to a submarine-qualified officer. Constructed of dark navy wool and Dacron polyester blend, featuring a double-breasted front with six brass buttons. Each sleeve displays four gold bullion stripes surmounted by a gold star, denoting the rank of Captain (O-6). Above the left breast pocket are three rows of service ribbons and a gold Submarine Warfare insignia, depicting two dolphins flanking a submarine - symbol of a qualified submariner. The ribbons represent campaigns and service distinctions: Armed Forces and Navy Expeditionary operations, National Defense, and Good Conduct and Sea Service deployments, reflecting a long and active naval career. Size: 35" L x 21" W (88.9 cm x 53.3 cm)
