Western Europe / United States, Victorian to Edwardian era, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A stunning amethyst intaglio set in a electrum setting of 57.8% (equivalent to 13K+) gold! The ovoid amethyst is engraved with a bust in profile of a young woman in a classical style with a Greco-Roman coiffure. The delicate filigree wires studded with 11 seed pearls, and the verso of the bail loop has a faint fineness mark. This exquisite and elegant piece comes with a modern brass chain and is wearable and in pristine condition! Size of pendant: 1.75" L x 0.65" W (4.4 cm x 1.7 cm); electrum quality: 57.8% (13K+) gold, 23.3% silver; weight: 3.2 grams; chain: 18.5" L (47 cm)
