**Originally Listed At $300**
Northern Europe, England, Victorian Era, ca. 1870 to 1890 CE. A trio of delicate nostalgia rendered in high-relief profile, this Victorian-era jewelry suite brings together three distinct cameo pieces - a pendant necklace, a ring, and a brooch - each carved with feminine elegance and mounted in gleaming settings of gold and silver alloy. These ornaments speak not just of fashion, but of sentiment, memory, and the quiet pride of craftsmanship in a romantic age. The pendant necklace features a shell cameo of a classical beauty in profile, her hair swept up in graceful curls. The cameo is framed in an oval bezel of gold-rich alloy with copper and silver, detailed with openwork and a dainty ring of seed pearls along the inner border. Suspended from a fine copper-gold alloy chain, the necklace bears the pastel softness and quiet luster so cherished in mid-to-late Victorian taste. Size of largest cameo: 1.25" L x 1" W (3.2 cm x 2.5 cm); of necklace chain: 16.5" L (41.9 cm)
The ring offers a more intimate echo of this idealized portraiture. Set in a simple rope-twist bezel of gold-dominant alloy, the cameo is finely carved in shell, capturing a youthful visage with flowing curls and downcast eyes. Worn on the hand, it becomes a miniature portrait of grace, a whisper of the past made wearable.
The brooch departs from organic shell, instead showcasing a striking two-tone glass cameo in crisp white against a deep burgundy ground. The female figure's coiffure and gown are rendered in neoclassical style, her profile confident, her posture serene. The back reveals a pin clasp of sterling silver, testifying to its refined construction and durability. These cameos, once worn as emblems of love, remembrance, or refinement, now offer collectors a complete vignette of Victorian personal adornment - each piece distinct in material and mood, yet unified in their quiet homage to the antique ideal.
