Pre-Columbian, Northern Peru, Vicus culture, ca. 250 BCE to 600 CE. A hand-built pottery vessel exhibiting stone-burnished, russet-hued surfaces and a charming avian form. The tab-shaped wings and tail protrude out from the body while a stylized head is raised on the front, and a thick handle bridges the gap between the head and a raised 'tail' spout. Size: 7.8" L x 6.2" W x 6.9" H (19.8 cm x 15.7 cm x 17.5 cm)
