Description:

Northern Europe, Scandinavia, Viking, ca. 9th to 11th century CE. A shimmering talisman from the heroic days of the North, this Viking silver Thor's hammer pendant radiates the legendary might of Mjolnir, symbol of Thor - the thunder god and guardian of warriors. Elegantly shaped into a distinctive arrow-like form, the pendant exemplifies the protective power and divine authority revered in Norse culture, worn as both amulet and declaration of allegiance. The front face is vividly adorned with meticulously incised rune-like chevrons, interwoven and dancing like flashes of lightning, symbolic of Thor's tempestuous might. The reverse presents a polished, serene surface, quietly reflecting an understated elegance and highlighting the pendant's masterful silverwork. At the apex, the silver curves gracefully into a loop, awaiting the thread of chain or leather to carry Thor's presence near to heart and spirit. Size: 1.6" L x 1.2" W (4.1 cm x 3 cm); silver quality: 93%; weight: 11.7 grams

More than mere adornment, pendants like this whispered of bravery, marked faith, and offered protection on perilous journeys. Today, it remains a compelling emblem of Norse heritage, still resonant with the echoes of Viking courage and valor.
