United States, ca. 21st century CE. A walrus ivory carving depicting a gecko and centipede, masterfully detailed along the natural curve of the tusk. The gecko is rendered with fine texturing across its body and inlaid amber eyes that give it a lifelike presence. Alongside, the centipede is intricately carved with segmented body and arched legs, emphasizing naturalistic movement.
