Ancient Central Asia, Bactria, ca. mid-3rd to early 2nd millennium BCE. A wearable necklace that is string with 22 hand-carved stone beads exhibiting a plethora of vibrant colors. The stone beads have been polished in modern times to enhance their luster and increase the comfort of wearing them. A central copper bead, perhaps a coin, is centered within the stone beads. Size (necklace): 38" L (96.5 cm); (largest bead): 1.14" W x 0.49" H (2.9 cm x 1.2 cm)

  • Condition: Wearable as shown and constructed in modern times. Stone beads are ancient; stringing is modern. Minor nicks and abrasions to some beads, with coarse patina and deposits on copper coin pendant, otherwise intact and very good. Great presentation!
