Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico to Guatemala, Olmec, ca. 900 to 500 BCE. A wearable necklace of substantial size constructed with 84 hand-carved hardstone beads in light earthen hues. The beads exhibit either spherical or oblong forms, each with polished surfaces and drilled suspension holes, and can be worn as a single- or double-stranded accessory. Size (necklace): 39" L (99.1 cm); (largest bead): 0.8" W (2 cm)
