United States, ca. 1909 CE. A Indian Head and Half Eagle $5 gold coin, struck in 90% gold, equivalent to 21+K, one of the nmore unique issues of early 20th-century American coinage. The obverse features the left-facing bust of a Native American man in a headdress, encircled by 13 stars, LIBERTY, and the date below. The reverse shows an eagle standing on arrows and an olive branch, surrounded by the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the denomination FIVE DOLLARS. Designed by Bela Lyon Pratt, the incuse design - engraved below the coin's surface rather than raised - gives this series its distinctive appearance. The coin contains approximately 0.2419 troy ounces of pure gold, equivalent to 21+ karats in fineness, making it both a numismatic and intrinsic treasure.
