Description:

Latin & South America, Argentina, Chile, & Mexico, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A varied collection of Latin American cultural objects, including a Mexican milagro, a Chilean miniature gaucho boot, and an Argentine facon knife with a silver handle. The milagro, cast from 90% silver in convex form with a raised central nipple and pierced upper edge for suspension, represents the deeply rooted devotional practice of offering symbolic charms for healing or gratitude. The facon, a traditional gaucho knife, features a well-aged steel blade displaying pitting and patina from long use. Its handle is crafted from 62-70% silver, showing no maker's marks and possibly dating as early as the mid or even early 19th century - a fine example of frontier craftsmanship. Completing the group is a mid-20th century souvenir miniature gaucho boot from Chile, crafted from leather with remarkable detail - tiny iron buckles, leather straps, and brass spurs with a rotating rowel. The sole is stamped "CHILE." Size of knife: 11" L x 1.5" W (27.9 cm x 3.8 cm); silver quality: 62% to 90%
