Lot 344
**Originally Listed At $200**
Native American, Southwestern United States, Acoma Pueblo, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. This collection features three Acoma pottery vessels. The fineline jar, adorned with mesmerizing black-on-white stripes, is signed "MZ CHINO / ACOMA NM" on its base. Marie Zieu Chino (1907-1982), a highly influential Acoma Pueblo potter, was central to the mid-20th-century revival of ancient Acoma pottery styles, collaborating with Lucy M. Lewis, Jessie Garcia, and Juana Leno - collectively known as "The Four Matriarchs." Chino's work, celebrated in major collections like the National Museum of the American Indian, earned her numerous awards, including a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award. The basket-shaped pot, featuring a bird's head, is also signed, though the name is worn and illegible, while the smallest pot remains unsigned. Size of basket pot: 4" Diameter x 5" H (10.2 cm x 12.7 cm)
