Native American, Southwestern United States, Hopi Pueblo & Navajo, ca. late 20th to 21st century CE. A diverse collection of 10 wooden carvings and kachinas by Hopi and Navajo artists, showcasing traditional craftsmanship and cultural symbolism. The group features a raven or crow carving by Navajo artist Les Herbert, capturing the essence of this playful bird. Included are flat wooden kachinas, with the largest being a Mudhead (Koyemsi), alongside depictions of Kokopelli, Kokopelli Mana, Nuvak'chin Mana, and Mustard Green I'she. A wood kachina figure is presented in a wicker cradleboard. Complementing the set are two blue corn ornaments adorned with turkey feathers and grass stalks, as well as a corn kachina maiden, symbolizing abundance and renewal. - Condition: Kokopelli is missing the nose. Stains and scuffs to wood surfaces. The kachina in the cradleboard is stained with dust and requires gentle cleaning. Fraying to attached feathers. Overall good conditions.
