Ancient Near East, Achaemenid Persian Empire, ca. 550 to 330 BCE. A wonderful set of 4 matched vessels, possibly a funerary grouping, made of hand-hammered copper. These are special libation bowls with a squat, flattened base and body that is decorated in repousse with radiating diamond shapes that creates a lobed pattering across the shoulder. One vessel is a bowl with flared rim, the other three are cups with thin copper handles riveted to the rims. Size of bowl: 3.5" W x 2" H (8.9 cm x 5.1 cm)
