4 pc Petrified Wood Fragment Collection, Oregon Cypress

North America, Northwestern United States, Oregon, Eocene period, ca. 37 million years ago. A group of four petrified wood fragments showing preserved grain, bark-like texture, and varied mineralization. Two pieces are cut with polished cross-sections that reveal concentric growth rings and internal banding, while the exterior surfaces are left raw with grooved, wood-like texture still visible. The largest specimen displays smoky quartz crystalline formations embedded within the ridged surface. One fragment is labeled as cypress wood from Oregon, while the original find sites for the remaining pieces are unknown. Size of largest: 6.3" L x 2.5" W (16 cm x 6.4 cm)
