Description:

**Originally Listed At $250**

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, Protoclassic to Early Classic, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE; Gulf Coast, Veracruz, Late Classic, ca. 600 to 900 CE. A pairing of two Pre-Columbian ceramic works. The first is a burnished blackware Colima pottery figure, seated and holding a rounded pot in his lap. The second is a hollow terracotta head from Veracruz, likely once part of a larger sculpture. The head features bold facial modeling with incised details, and a distinctive nose ornament that drapes over the slightly open mouth - an expressive detail associated with elite identity and ceremonial regalia. Size of figure: 4" W x 6.5" H (10.2 cm x 16.5 cm)
