North Africa, Morocco, Upper Cretaceous Period, ca. 80 to 66 million years ago. A sandstone matrix containing fossilized mosasaur remains, including two conical teeth with well-preserved enamel and partial roots. Additional inclusions include a small fragment likely from a shark tooth, along with shell material and other marine debris embedded throughout the surface. Mosasaurs were powerful marine reptiles with streamlined bodies, flattened tails, and paddle-like limbs, adapted for swift movement in warm, shallow seas where they preyed on fish and other marine life. By the Late Cretaceous, they had spread widely across ancient oceans and inland seaways. Size: 9" L x 5" W x 1.5" H (22.9 cm x 12.7 cm x 3.8 cm)
