North America, United States, Colorado, Cripple Creek Mining District, ca. 1893 CE. a framed mining deed from the C.O.D. Mine (Cash-On-Delivery) Gold Mining Company to P.E.C. Burke at Poverty Gulch. The double-sided, folded deed is signed and notarized, dated November 20th, 1893, and mounted under matting with two accompanying photographic prints: a map of the Poverty Gulch claims, and an image of the weathered wooden structures of the mine labeled "C.O.D. Mine July 22, 1893." An interesting historical document of Colorado's last great gold rush, preserved as a display of regional mining heritage. Size of frame: 15.5" L x 12.5" W (39.4 cm x 31.8 cm); deed folded: 8.5" L x 3.75" W (21.6 cm x 9.5 cm)

  • Condition: The deed is in great condition with age expected foxing and some minor discoloration and pen stains. Intact and folded. The map and photograph are printed copies. The photo has a small tear and crease to edge. Photocopies of the deed are included in a plastic sleeve on the verso of the frame. All is mounted in a wooden frame under glass.
