Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 330 to 337 CE. A wearable necklace showcasing an ancient silvered bronze coin of Emperor Constantine I, set in a modern 18K gold bezel and strung with chatoyant green beads. The obverse of the coin features Constantine in military dress, cuirassed and facing left, wearing a high-crested helmet, holding a spear over his shoulder and a shield on his left arm, inscribed IMP CONSTANTINVS AVG. The reverse bears VICTORIAE LAETAE PRINC PERP, with two Victories flanking an altar and supporting a shield, with SIS marked in the exergue. The necklace closes with a oval box clasp. Size of strand: 21.5" L (54.6 cm); coin: 0.8" Diameter (2 cm); gold quality: 75% (equivalent to 18K)
