Sasanian Empire. Ca. 5th - 6th century A.D. Group of six stamp seals including five orange carnelian examples and one rock crystal seal, all having a drilled suspension hole through their centers, and carved with a stamp impression including: one with an abstract standing figure with crescent head, orange and cream coloration, exc. cond. A winged horse with a colt under her, exc. cond. A running deer with large antlers, some very minor surface flakes, overall exc. A standing human figure, exc. cond. A standing figure holding an object, long hairdo and wearing a pleated garment with long cape, having a relief carved geometric upper stamp body. Some minor scattered high point edge wear, otherwise exc. cond. Finally, a rock crystal example having a relief cut upper body with six circular elements, and an animal stamp, possibly a pig or rabbit. Some scattered edge roughness. Size: 1/2"W. x 3/4"W.
